The D-12 Captain was a MTF captain and leading member of Mobile Task Force D-12 "Mud Slingers" who was killed during their team's expedition into SCP-1730.
SCP-1730 exploration[]
D-12 Cap, with a team of five agents, was dispatched to the Big Bend Ranch State Park, in front of SCP-1730's main entrance. After conducting a microphone check between units and the Provisional Site-23 Command, Cap lead their team through the front doors and into the main lobby. After discovering a service elevator, D-12 Cap lead the team further into the facility, down to the third basement level.
In Level B3's main corridor, Cap paired the D-12 agents up, joining D-12-4 in checking the rooms along the main corridor, deciding to take the doors on the left side. When D-12-4 found a corpse, Cap told One and Three to hold their positions as they joined Four in inspecting the body. Cap turned back to support the two as they found more bodies behind the barricade, quickening their pace following Three's report of a body moving and the resulting gunshots.
Demanding for updates on their situation, Three reported a snake-sized leech that had hollowed out the corpse it burst from. Looking at the hollowed body themself, Cap questioned Site Command for video confirmation of the sight. Recognizing that SCP-1730 had hostile entities, Cap reminded their unit to ready their firearms if their safety was on, and began to lead the four of them back to the service elevator with D-12 Two and Five.
After One and Four pointed out that the second hallway no longer connected to the first, Captain attempted to contact Two and Five to determine if they had lost connection in the spatial anomaly. Only receiving a snide remark from Four, Cap turned to Site Command for status updates on the two missing agents. Receiving a negative, D-12 Cap decided to lead the remaining four down the new hallway in search of an exit. After debating with D-12-1 over checking an office door marked "silence", Cap relented and let One investigate. When One found the door was locked, Cap suggested they try knocking the door down. This idea would be their undoing, as One loudly opened the door to a flaming-eared human with acoustiphobic properties. The cognitohazard victim combusted in response to the banging door, incinerating the D-12 Captain alongside One and Four, and their equipment. The Site Command operator attempted to receive an assessment of the situation from the deceased captain, only to find D-12-3 as the only (albeit brief) survivor.
